Water Stargrass (Heteranthera dubia) can be found throughout the United States. Stargrass prefers quieter waters. When flowering look for its distinctive small star-shaped flower. Leaves are flaccid with no visible midrib.

A. Herbicide Application:
Hydrothol 191 Granular is a great choice especially if there are additional submerged weeds present that require control. Navigate granular herbicide is a great alternative particularly if Water Stargrass is the dominant species.

Q. When is the best time to treat?

A. Plants must be present to treat. Water temperatures should exceed sixty degrees Fahrenheit.

Q. How do I actually apply the product(s)?

A. The Hydrothol 191 or Navigate granules can be spread by a small Hand held spreader or can be tossed by a hand scoop.

Q. How often do I need to treat Water Stargrass?

A. One to two treatments per season are usually plenty.

Q. How long before I see results?

A. Generally within twelve to sixteen day things will be cleared up.
