Problem Weeds by Type of Water

Sometimes it's easier to identify a weed by the type of water you face. We've grouped most of the lake, pond and aquatic weeds together by the type of water feature you may have.

Lake Weeds
Lakes provide a wide variety of aquatic weeds and all of them will invade your shoreline or swimming hole. We have identified most of the lake weeds that you will face during the summer months.

Pond Weeds
Ponds are smaller in size than a true lake but that doesn't mean your battle is any less severe. In fact, ponds are more likely to completely choke out with invasive weeds. Algae is especially common in the shallow ponds throughout the US.

Ornamental Pond Weeds
